Boro Target Braga's Linz

Sporting Braga striker Roland Linz has reportedly emerged as a target for Middlesbrough Football Club.

Boro's coach, Gareth Southgate, is reported to be a keen admirer of the potential of the 26-year-old, who is currently in his second season in Portugal.

Linz is part of coach Josef Hickersberger's provisional call-up list for Euro 2008 and he is expected to feature for Austria in the tournament.

It is believed that a deal worth just £1.5 million (€1.9 million) will be enough to take him away from Sporting de Braga.

Linz joined Sp. Braga from Boavista for an undisclosed fee, having netted 11 goals in 25 league appearances for the club this season.
