Porto Offer Tarik New Deal

Portuguese news daily Record reports that FC Porto have offered midfielder Tarik Sektioui a new deal at Estádio do Dragão...

The Moroccan's deal was set to expire in the summer, but he has now agreed on a one-year extension to keep him with the Dragons until 2009.

FC Porto and Sektioui had been in talks about a contract extension for some months. Things hit a snag as the 30-year-old had apparently always insistedon a two-year extension, something that seemed to be off the agenda for the board.

The Portuguese champions have only agreed to extend Sektioui's contract by one year, but nonetheless the deal is expected to be sealed in the next few days.

Sektioui, who has been an important figure in the Dragons' midfield since returning from a six-month loan spell at RKC Waalwijk, is expected to feature for FC Porto this weekend after recovering from an injury to his left knee.
