Vukcevic Unhappy With Sub Role

Sporting attacking midfielder Simon Vukcevic is reportedly unhappy with his not featuring for the club's starting XI in recent weeks...

The Montenegrin footballer has dropped down the pecking order at Sporting since the return of Yannick Djaló, whose form has been crucial in the club's struggle for the second spot.

The 22-year-old's agent, Zoran Stojadinovic, has admitted that his cliet is unhappy with the recent lack of playing time, saying that a transfer move in the summer will be considered if he is not given a more influential role.

"I do not understand why he is not a starter," Stojadinovic told A BOLA. "If he is not playing what he should with the campaign he is conducting, then I do not understand... I do not understand anything!"

"If this continues, we will have to talk at the end of the season, for everyone's sake. It cannot continue like this."

Stojadinovic revealed last week that Manchester United were interested in signing Vukcevic. However, he now claims that it is Manchester City who have been monitoring the progress of the Montenegrin.

"They [Manchester City] saw the games against Basel, Rangers and Benfica. There is someone in England that works with me that even spoke to Eriksson, who really likes Vukcevic," Stojadinovic concluded.

Vukcevic signed with Sporting from FC Saturn for a deal worth €4m, and has scored 12 goals in 32 appearances for the Lions this season.
