Milan To Pounce For Patricio?

According to the latest reports in Italy, AC Milan could be set to make a move for Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

One of Milan’s primary transfer targets this summer will be to sign a new goalkeeper. Long-term number one Nelson Dida is almost certain to be sold following a simply disastrous campaign, while doubts still remain whether Zeljko Kalac will be trusted as the number one for next season.

The Rossoneri have been linked with a whole host of shot-stoppers in the past few months, most notably the likes of Sebastien Frey, Heurelho Gomes, Alexander Doni and Mickael Landreau.

Latest reports suggest that Milan could be preparing a bid for Sporting Lisbon number one Rui Patricio.

Patricio is just 20-years-old, and grew up in the Sporting youth system. Since making his debut in 2006, he has established himself as the club’s first choice, and this season has been hugely impressive.

Leandro Grimi, who is on-loan at Sporting from Milan, has given his parent club a glowing recommendation of his team-mate.

The Diavoli may now use Grimi as a makeweight in negotiations for Patricio this summer.

Patricio earned his maiden call-up for the Portugal national team in the 3-1 friendly defeat to Italy in February, but he did not play.
